Fascinated with ‘hair ice’

Today, on the 22nd of February, I was introduced to the natural phenomena ‘hair ice’.

As a result, I have been dreaming most of the day, that one day;

Modern architecture will build structures from ‘rotten wood with a special fungus’

That under special environmental conditions,

Will grow strands of beautiful and mesmerising ‘hair ice’

And with small pieces of ‘lignin’ inside each strand..

Gulsine is able to measure the rate of ageing in polymers in the fastest times possible.

Human skin is a polymer that is also composed of molecular chains.

To understand how skin ages will pave ways in regenerative medicine.

Gulsine is looking for partners to create a handheld device that calculates the rate of ageing for human skin.

WELL, SOME MORE WONDERFUL NEWS

I morphed nacelle inlet lip of an aerostructure with pneumatic actuators, creating a small prototype in the short 10 months I was at University of Bristol, working with one of the most interesting and encouraging Professor, Fabrizio Scarpa, he knows he is the best there. One of the most interesting and fun projects of my life, combining materials, mechanical and robotics engineering (with a bit of graphene). Now Nasa Stennis Space Center is reading my papers, I hope they bring the wonderful idea to life. Simple yet so sophisticated. I only wish I had more time but now I am doing something even more interesting that will have significant use in space applications, polymers ageing, so hopefully will work with NASA.
